Risk Management Essentials now provides Electrical Testing and Tagging services in Canberra and surrounding NSW areas.
Why Test and Tag?
We Test and Tag electrical equipment in compliance with the AS/NZS 3760:2010 Australian Standard. This is to reduce the likelihood of workplace incidents involving faulty electrical equipment/tools, and the risks related to electricity such as electrical shock. Frequent electrical testing ensures a safer work environment for employees, clients, and customers.
AS/NZS 3760:2010 – Electrical Safety Standard
AS/NZS 3760:2010 is an electrical safety standard in Australia and New Zealand that specifies the testing method and frequency of electrical equipment. This includes the inspection of single and polyphase (240v – 415v) portable electrical equipment, and machinery connected to supply by flexible cord, which is currently in-service, or returning to service.
Record Keeping
As well as ensuring the safety of your electrical equipment, the AS/NZS 3760:2010 Australian Standard also outlines the following:
- A tag attached to each item tested indicating item ID, test date, retest date, item status (pass/fail), and the competent person performing the test.
- A register and historical record of all test items and test results
- A record of results including faulty item and repair action.
This means a record is kept on our system with reminders and dates for your next retest, removing the hassle of having to remember yourself.
Retesting Requirements
Inspection and retesting intervals can range from daily, monthly, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and up to 2 years testing schedules.
